I used CareOne and place some of my credit card companies on to my program. Macy’s Visa was one of them. The company managed to take my money and keep some of the money for themselves. I received a bill from macy’s telling me that they had never received a payment from me. I had to call Macy’s and tell them that I signed up for Careone debt management and that they were suppose to receive a bid from them. The customer service representative told me that they never received a bid from any debt management company from me and that I defaulted on my own. They do not work with all your creditors. They are not willing to work with American Express if you have a card and they don’t like to help people who are current on their credit cards. Why do they claim to help people to get out of debt regardless of whether they are current and can only make the minimum or a couple of months behind? We all want to get rid of debt. It is just like the first answerer mentioned. Try to contact consumer credit counseling.
